The My Works Gang!

We met while sending our boys to a local
Montessori Preschool in our hometown.
Neither of us knew much about Montessori,
we just heard the Montessori education would
give our children a good head start toward
their academic development.

After a couple of years, we went from being
Mom’s of Montessori preschoolers to employees
at our children’s Montessori school. Yes…
our children moved on but the three of us
just couldn’t leave! We were all fascinated
by our children’s emotional security, social
development and academic success after
they completed their preschool years.

So Kelley and Lisa decided to take the plunge,
go back to school (and homework), and
become AMS certified Montessori directors
and later head teachers. Dawn stepped into
the Montessori world when she took over
the behind the scene position of managing the Montessori Preschool. It was this position that created an urge within Dawn to find a way to do more.

Dawn’s daily communications with the parents from the school combined with her entrepreneurial spirit and giving nature sparked the idea that became My Works. Dawn, Kelley and Lisa saw how many of our parents were just like we use to
be – knowing that Montessori education was amazingly effective but not understanding why or how to continue the success at home. With our diverse backgrounds, love for the Montessori style, and desire to translate its importance to everyone, we embarked on yet another new phase of our lives.

You may have a lot of questions. We get it…we were there! And now we are here to help you. There are several misconceptions about Montessori. We’ve heard them all…more importantly we’ve thought them all too. We are here to
set the record straight on what Montessori is, how Montessori can benefit your children and how it benefits parents too.

Here at My Works, we have developed lessons and materials based on the Montessori curriculum for you and your
child to use at home. We want to help create a joy and love for learning for your children.
